The Peking Opera Performer
Lam Ching Ying was part of that disappearing generation who received the traditional Peking Opera training. Under the wings of Madame Fan Fok Fa besides martial arts he learned the arts of dancing, singing, acting on stage, and special movements. Above all, due to his slender built he made himself master of the rare ability to play a woman character. Unfortunately his time as a Peking Opera performer was relatively short, but he got the opportunity on screen to show his extraordinary skills. Those were memorable moments in the Hong Kong movie history. I arrested a few moments from these movies to remember.
